2008 Review in Photos

with one comment

Wow.
I really have no clue where to begin.
2008 brought so many ups and downs that just the thought of going through and rehashing all of it freaks me out.
Regardless, 2008 was amazing for many reasons, and one in particular.

Thankful fors in 2008 in no particular order:
(clicking each photo will enable you to leave a comment and to enlarge a specific photo)

There are many more photo’s I could place up there; blog party, etc. However I have limited space and time.
Perhaps if I feel it, I’ll do a 2008 in Review part II.
I will say this, Twitpic made this a whole lot easier.

Anyhow….
I truly never will forget 2008.
Each memory will be tattooed on mind and heart forever.
From the moment of 01/01/08, to the moment of all the tears I cried, to the moment I first laid my lips on Allison’s, to the moments soon awaiting me in the next few days.
2008 will be a defining moment of my life to come.

I could truly never be more blessed.

Here’s to 2009!

Passion

with one comment

The past few weeks at Dialogue we’ve been discussing the topic of “emotion”.
Good emotion.
Negative emotion.
What it means to truly feel.
What it means when we lose the ability to feel.
We’ve been discussing type of emotions;

  • love
  • joy
  • sadness
  • depression
  • anger

    And many more.
    Yesterday PR brought up passion.
Why should we be passionate? What should we be passionate about? Who should be passionate?
In discussing these things, he showed us this video.

I’ll leave the comments and opinions to you.

    What was your first thought?

    TRUTH in lyrics…

    with 2 comments

    Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands

    -worship song Healer

I have to say, it’s comforting knowing that my life is held in His hands.
Think about that for a second….

Whatever hand we’re dealt, he’s standing there with us.
No matter how big the mess, he accepts it as His mess.
It doesn’t matter of the depth of pain we feel, He has taken the deepest pain from us.

Our love is ending and full of agendas.
His love is never ending and full of grace.

He holds my world in His hands…

    LifeShare SingAlong

    with 4 comments

    Incase you missed it tonight…
    This is what it looked like worshiping God with 140+ bloggers;

I have never ever done anything like this.
    Talk about power in worship.
There was something unreal about this worship tonight that I have never experienced inside of a church before.
If you are not a part of this commmunity of blogging, I not just invite you to be. I encourage you to be a part of it.
If you were a part of this community tonight, please share with everyone what tonight was like for you. What was unique about this compared to what you experience in a church building every Sunday(not in a bad way)?

I am so thankful for an authentic community of bloggers. I love all of you.

    Third Day – Switchfoot

    with 3 comments

    Long time since I’ve posted.
    Sorry.
I’ve truly been meaning to, it’s just life has been sort of crazy.

Anyhow, today while I was at work I received a tweet from @rjschaefer asking me how much he loved me, meaning he had something I was going to enjoy. He went on to tell me how he had two tickets to the Third Day/Switchfoot concert today, FOR FREE, if i wanted them.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love Third Day.
    I obviously accepted…..

I have seen Third Day in concert many times, and I have to say, it was just an okay show by them.
    Switchfoot however…were incredible.
    It’s funny to me.
A long time ago I did not understand the buzz that was around Switchfoot.
    My roommate was hooked.
However, I just thought they sounded like any other rock band.
It was about that time that I was introduced to TWLOHA.
TWLOHA is an organization that is trying to seek the hearts and lives of the world, in hopes to speak truth, love, and hope in to the lives of all who they come in contact with.
It is through TWLOHA that I heard about who Switchfoot, and Jon Foreman in general, were behind their music.
Once getting to know them on that level, it seemed impossible to listen to their music and not fall in love.
I started to listen more and more and become more and more attached to not just their behind the scene lives, but how they lived that out through their powerful lyrics and inspiring musical talent.

This is from the concert tonight(I apologize for the image quality. The sound however is priceless):

By far my favorite song by Switchfoot.

    Be blessed!

    Resinate!!

    with 2 comments

There are some worship songs that seem to resinate inside of me more.
Some songs that I just feel a bit more connected.
For me, every time I hear At The Cross, I cry like a baby.
For some reason while that song is playing, or I’m singing it, I can see God like he’s standing right next to me. I can hear him like like I hear the pastor on Sunday mornings. I can feel him like I can feel the embrace of a friend.
    This song moves me….

What is the song that when you hear or sing moves you like no other song?

Church Plant Update (6), Small Group, Twitter Kills

    with one comment

[If you don’t care to read about the Church Plant Update, scroll down to the Red font and Blue font.]

Last night was our initial meeting for the start-up team. We had thirteen in attendance, which was basically everyone besides a few that were expected to show up. It went really well. Again, like I’ve said in the past, I love my team. Not only do we make each other stronger, but they[Kim and Ashlee, thank you ladies] also feed me when I’m hungry. Who does that resemble? That’s right Jesus. My team is better than yours! No, seriously, they’re amazing.

Anyhow, because I love all of you so much I am going to put all of my notes on my blog every Monday. Feel free to read through, comment, make suggestions, tell us we’re stupid, or whatever you want to do. Remember, these are just MY notes, MY opinions of what was said. Also, when you see titles like “Values” or “Vision” or “Finances”, or any for that matter, know that those are not our visions or values underneath, just my notes to some of the values and the vision we discussed. On a handout that was made for everyone we did put specific Values and talked about our Vision, and discussed a lot of the finances. Once everything is decided on, I will start to post our vision statement, our values, and such as well.

Anyhow, here are my notes from the first meeting:
