Root Canal take II

with 4 comments

If you follow me on Twitter, you have heard.
(If you don’t follow me, now is a good time to start: @vagabondrunn)
I hate the dentist.
It’s true.
I don’t care if he did get an award for being the town’s “Finest” in 2008.
I just DO NOT like going to the dentist.
Last monday I went for a routine Root Canal
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that when it comes to going to the dentist and myself, nothing is ever routine.
They got in there, told me there would be NO pain.
There was.
I was to raise my hand if I felt pain, which turned into me about raising my hand so fast that I punched the ole’ doc in the face.
What it turned into was me having an infection in my gums, so they couldn’t finish. They told me to take these meds and come back a week later. A “routine” 2 hour procedure now turned into a 170+ hour procedure.

Seriously, I HATE the dentist.

On a lighter note.
I received an email this afternoon from @rjschaefer with this photo of one of the students in the church turned into a Dialogue Promo…
image-1
(Just a side note to the promo; It is by no means a literal statement. It is the words that came out of the students mouth, which in return was used as a humor promo for Dialogue. No harmful or put-down type intentions were meant)

What is it that you just HATE to do??

We’re here…finally.

with 7 comments

Okay, so I’ve been quiet.
I apologize.
Allison and I left on Wednesday evening to head to Georgia for the big party.
On our way we stopped in to just northeast of Cincinnati in Ohio to visit her cousin’s Ray and Melissa.
It was a great short stop.
Refreshing.
We decided to leave there around midnight, with hopes to enter the domains of Gainesville, GA around eight in the morning.
It was roughly that time when we did get there.
However, that was long after our detour around the mountains and valley’s of our 30 min in North Carolina.(a little different view than what we see in Indiana)
travel
But…we did finally get here.
The first night we stayed with my aunt/uncle, Chery and Jose, and the boys.
We ate very well. Many LARGE portions of authentic homemade mexican food.
The boys are great.
I miss them while I’m home…sometimes I forgot how much.
Tonight we are staying with our new friends, the Nahrstadt’s.
Jenn invited us last week to stay with her and her family. It was nice, even though we didn’t need a place. However, after thinking about it, they had two extra beds, and while we were staying with my aunt, we were kicking two people out of their beds(they insisted). It made it all work out great.
They are great people.
I mean seriously, who asks if you want brownies and then make them from scratch without a box?!
Honestly, I am not sure I have ever had homemade brownies.

Oh, I did get the chance to play their 14 year old son in Guitar Hero.
Sadly…he won.
The current score:

untitled

Be sure to check back at the end of the weekend.
It surely has to change…I hope.

Pray for my guitar hero skills…

My EnV is envy…

with 3 comments

Here’s the deal.
This would be my current phone:

Not a bad phone. It has some major benefits over most phones.
I also truly enjoy using this phone compared to all of the other phones that I have used.
The name of the phone?

The EnV2.

As of July 11, 2008, the name of my phone became very funny/ironic to me.
You see my phone has now officially(if it hadn’t before) picked up it’s namesake’s trait.
Some days I can hear my phone tell me it wants a “sex change”(as what I believe it would be called when you go from Verizon to AT&T, or from one type of phone to a completely different type).
You see, my phone is now asking to be….

The iPhone 3G.

I feel like my phone has been good to me.
So good that I should grant her(yes it’s a she) the change.

Thoughts?

(Yes, I’m completely aware that I am pathetic. I am also aware that I am a complete geek beyond repair. Yes, I know my phone is not full of envy, and that it’s truly me.)

I need help…

Cancellation of Small Group

with 5 comments

Hello Readers,

First off let me start by apologizing for the lack of attention and usage of my blog in the recent weeks. Shortly there will be a post explaining in detail why this has been so as of recent.

Regarding our Blogger Small Group, I have chosen to end the small group, or at least it’s place on Run’n Like A Vagabond. If you are a member, and have the desire to continue this group, feel free. If you have any questions, feel free to email me; kylejreese@gmail.com.

Again, I appreciate all of the support that I have received from everyone through my blog and through twitter while I have gone through a rough couple months, and more so, a very rough week or so. If you wish to know what is going on in my life on a day to day basis, Twitter is the way to do that. You can follow me HERE.

Thanks again!
-Kj

Happy Flashbacks & A New Ride?

with 2 comments

The topic?
GAS PRICES

Avg. Per Year:
1998 – $1.50/gallon
1999 – $1.65/gallon
2000 – $1.80/gallon
2001 – $2.00/gallon
2002 – $2.10/gallon
2003 – $1.90/gallon (Wow a drop?)
2004 – $2.00/gallon
2005 – $2.50/gallon
2006 – $2.80/gallon
2007 – $3.30/gallon
Currently – $4.19/gallon

It currently is costing me $107.00 to fill up my tank of gas. This normally last me about 11 days. I would do anything to go back to complaining about having to pay $2.80 a gallon. Something in my life has to change.
My job.
My spending.
My vehicle.
My whole lifestyle.
Something.
I’ve been looking at scooters to purchase. The mileage is better(100mpg), the fillups are less pricey, and of course I’d look much sweeter on one.

My question for you all, what do you drive and how many mpg does your car get?

Do you relate?

with one comment

(My assumption is that I feel this way because of having to stand in 95 degree weather in a full tuxedo all day yesterday with the lack of intake of H2O. Only to top that off with not getting to bed before 2:00am.)
