Blogger Sickness

with one comment

Well I was on a bit of a roll with posting new articles for all of you to read until Monday.
What changed on Monday you ask?
The photo at the bottom changed.
The Dentist.
A root canal gone bad.
Which means I’m on drugs that make me sick.
I go back Monday @ 10:10am.

2008 Review in Photos

with one comment

I really have no clue where to begin.
2008 brought so many ups and downs that just the thought of going through and rehashing all of it freaks me out.
Regardless, 2008 was amazing for many reasons, and one in particular.

Thankful fors in 2008 in no particular order:
(clicking each photo will enable you to leave a comment and to enlarge a specific photo)

There are many more photo’s I could place up there; blog party, etc. However I have limited space and time.
Perhaps if I feel it, I’ll do a 2008 in Review part II.
I will say this, Twitpic made this a whole lot easier.

I truly never will forget 2008.
Each memory will be tattooed on mind and heart forever.
From the moment of 01/01/08, to the moment of all the tears I cried, to the moment I first laid my lips on Allison’s, to the moments soon awaiting me in the next few days.
2008 will be a defining moment of my life to come.

I could truly never be more blessed.

Here’s to 2009!

One Reason…

with 4 comments

…(out of many)I look forward to being a father.

Allison and I made a trip to Georgia just over a month ago.
While we were there we were blessed to have the Nahrstadt family open up their home to us.
We could have politely said no, with my aunt living so close.
However, we looked at the opportunity to meet new people and to sleep on beds that we were not kicking anyone out of, and took them up on it.
Jenn was an incredible host who fed us homemade brownies.(for that reason alone i’d go back)
Jenn’s husband Bob shared many of the same nerd qualities that I do, which was refreshing.
Then there was this boy, Jenn’s son Michael, who was hilarious.
At first he was quiet and shy.
I’m sure he was wondering who we were and why the heck we were stayig at his house…I know I would have been.
However, him and I ended playing some Guitar Hero(see the results HERE), and sort of bonded a little bit.
Before we left, I wanted to get a picture of Michael and I together, and so did Jenn.
Well…this is what happened:
It ended up turning into a wrestling brawl…in which he was pretty confident that I could not take him down or make him take this picture.
While Michael put up a good fight…it just wasn’t enough to back up his certainty

Anyhow, during that moment I had flashforward of being a father.
I’m scared to death of being a father to be honest.
I see the things kids are doing, how they’re acting, and just the danger in the world, and it scares the heck out of me.
Honestly though, there is absolutely nothing more that I look forward to in my life, then being able to hold my son/daughter and call them mine.

What do you look forward to the most?

Throwback Thursday

with one comment

So I have not done this in awhile.
It’s time for another addition of Throwback Thursday.

This photo was taken in 1985.
Which would make me a whoppin 3 years old.

Join in…post a retro picture of yourself, and leave a comment for me and others to view.

What do you say??

Monday’s Thoughts

with 3 comments

I have a lot on my mind right now.
I figured I’d take a minute to write out a few things that I’m thinking.
Here are they in bullet points.

  • Currently Reading: Jesus Wants to Save Christians by Rob Bell
  • Two Book suggestions: Feel by Matthew Elliott & Messy Spirituality by Michael Yaconelli
  • Book excerpt that you have to read:

Rob Bell in Jesus Wants to Save Christians….

It’s as if God is saying, “The thing that has happened to you – go make it happen for others. The freedom from oppression that you are now experiencing – help others experience that same freedom. The grace that has been extended to you when you were at your lowest – extend it to others. In the same way that I heard you cry, go and hear the cry of others and act on their behalf.”

  • Sunday was awesome at Dialogue. Four new visitors this week, that stemed off of our “We Coffee You” outreach.
  • I love Hymn’s more than I realized.
  • If Notre Dame loses another game like they did on Saturday, I may have a heart attack.
  • Prayer services on Saturday night before Sunday morning gatherings should be a must each week.

What’s on your mind? Really, it can be anything…

This weekend I will be traveling…enjoying…relaxing…celebrating.
    Cincinnati, OH.

  • Saturday I will be enjoying an early afternoon of watching Notre Dame kick-off their season against San Diego State.
  • Saturday evening I will be attending the Three Doors Down, Hinder, Finger Eleven, and Staind concert with Lori, and Allison and Matt. Concert was cancelled due to the lead singer of 3Doors Down having laryngitis
  • Sunday afternoon we’re heading to the Cincinnati Reds/Chicago Cubs game.
  • I will not be taking my laptop.
Instead this weekend will be used to just relax and have fun.
If you care to know what is going on, feel free to follow me on my TWITTER account.

    Anyhow, until Sunday night…Adios!

P.s I promise pictures by Monday.

    with 3 comments

    …I was born.
    It’s true.
My mom and dad did the deed 9 months prior and had me on the thirty-first day of August in nineteen eighty-two.

    (I’m the youngest)

With it being my birthday today.
It made me wonder; what was the United States like in 1982?

    President: Ronald W. Reagan
    Vice President: George Bush

    Population: 231,664,458
    Life expectancy: 74.5 years

    High: 1,070
    Low: 776

    Federal spending: $745.76 billion
    Federal debt: $1137.3 billion
    Inflation: 6%
    Consumer Price Index: 96.5
    Unemployment: 7.6%

Cost of a new home: $83,900.00
    Median Household Income: $20,171.00
    Cost of a first-class stamp: $0.20
Cost of a gallon of regular gas: $1.05 (which was high for the year)
Cost of a dozen eggs: $0.84
Cost of a gallon of Milk: $2.24

What is something exciting about the year you were born??
