Intentional Living

What does it mean to live intentional?

Photobucket

On my way to work this morning I was listening to Christian Talk Radio(I forgot the FooFighters at home), which I’m not normally a fan of. At the time I was listening they were talking about a story of a kid who’s father was intentionally spending time with him. The young boy wrote in his blog about how one of the days they spent together was one of the greatest days of his life. They went on to read another letter from another boy who stated that the time his father spent with him made him feel so amazing and confident.

Working with youth throughout my life one of the things that effect both guys and girls is self-confidence. High or low. It makes me wonder what a deeper in depth look at their families would reveal. How much time is being spent together with the dad and son, mom and daughter, etc?

The fathers of the two young boys mentioned above were intentional with spending time with their sons. They cared about letting them know they were loved. In return these two boys were built with self-confidence, with the affirmation that they were loved.

Our Father(Jesus/God) loves us intentionally as well. He longs for us to be affirmed that he wants to hang with us, to chill with us, to laugh with us, to go to a ball game with us, to hold us when we hurt, to stay up late with us when we can’t sleep, to love us. So please, live INTENTIONAL.

Any thoughts??
